Winter... it was a rough one!

Weather wise, nah... we're in south Louisiana, for goodness sakes! ;o)
But January sure did hit us hard!

We began our return to LA (from our holiday travels) with a date day out in town.
I really love when we go driving around. It's always filled with new neighborhoods (for me), lots of funny stories (from him), and usually a delicious new place to eat.
On this day, yummy salads from Luna's!

Early crawfish? Well, sure! Because of the unseasonably warmer winter, crawfish season came early. We are always anxious for it, so when a random Thursday family dinner opportunity came, we all indulged! (Except for Emily, of course.. silly girl doesn't like seafood! ;o))

Delicious!

And then came the worst week of my whole life! In a while, anyway.
Bleh! I spent an entire week out of work, visit to urgent care, barely eating, definitely not breathing well, and crying pretty much all day every day. I don't think I've ever been that sick as an adult. Whatever got ahold of me would not let go! My sweet husband and Mother-In-Love were so great to me. I barely lifted a finger the whole week... sadly, the following week was hubby's turn for junky virus germs, but we got through it. Whew!

Upon my return to the real world, I kept my oils on me 24/7!
Diffuser necklace for the win!

YAY FOR FEBRUARY!

If you haven't heard of IF:Gathering, please check it out!
Each February, in Austin.. and all over the world!, women gather to pray, seek the face of Jesus, worship, learn, sing, laugh, cry... all in the name of living out our purpose as a child of God.
I learned about this a couple of years ago through following some the speakers, like Jen Hatmaker. So, even though we were in Texas for the 2015 event, I watched the live feed from our apartment while Damion was at work. Such a great time! This year, I really wanted to go again, but man, those tickets go SO FAST! (p.s. - if you know a way I can go next year, I'll love you for all my life!) Anyway, I got registered for the live feed again this year and sent hubby away to hang with his brother for the weekend. I got off work on Friday afternoon and hurried home, cuddled up on my couch and barely left it the whole weekend, not wanting to miss a single moment!

There's also a really awesome opportunity for studying scripture, ladies! It's called IF:Equip!
You can sign up with your email. It's free, and super amazing! A study on the Nicene Creed just finished up, but a new study called 'Rooted In The Word' begins June 6th... so get signed up! There's even an app if that works better for you! :o) <3

We got to attend a Superbowl Party at Dry Creek Baptist Camp, hosted by the Dry Creek Baptist Church youth group, who were having a huge fundraiser auction. We got a few goodies, delicious food, and got to watch part of the game with tons of people, along with Damion's family.

We finished the game at his Mawmaw's house.
We rooted for Carolina the whole time, of course! :o)

And thennnn... Mardi Gras!
My first real Louisiana Mardi Gras. Last year, we were at the apartment in Houston, so it wasn't quite the same. (Remember how I drove over to Sulphur to run some errands while Damion worked that day... and everything was closed? Haha... now I know better.) I was off work, but Damion wasn't. So, after he got home, we got bundled up (it was a little bit chilly, actually!), grabbed lawn/camp chairs and headed to Lake Charles. Thankfully, we got a pretty nice seat right on Ryan Street by some nice families... and we waited! The parade finally rolled down, and I had such a good time! There were some great costumes, tons of music, beads and goodies tossed all around... so fun!

(hopefully this movie will work for you!)

I came home with a huge bag of loot!
We ended up getting rid of a majority of the beads because we had so many,
but we kept some of the pretty and unique ones!

I closed out the month with another short trip to see my friend, Hallie. She was working in Oxford, Mississippi, so I took a little jaunt to hang out with her for a couple of days. Always such a good time! She took me to see the Ole Miss campus on Saturday afternoon. Such a pretty place! Of course we thought of our friend, Martha, from TCC and sent her a photo! ;o)

Ready for SPRING!
